Afonso IV, who eventually had Inês de Castro assassinated in January 1355.

Mad with pain, Pedro led a revolt against the king and never forgave his father's murder of his beloved. When he assumed the crown in 1357, D. Pedro had the assassins arrested and killed, ripping their hearts out, which earned him the nickname "The Cruel".
